Meet Dr. Gulyas

 

 

            Northeast Spine and Wellness is directed by Dr. Joseph S. Gulyas.  He opened the Center Road Chiropractic Office in 1988, which was transformed in 2004 to Northeast Spine and Wellness in order to accommodate a growing number of practitioners involved in the practice. 

 

            Dr. Gulyas holds a Bachelor’s Degree in biology and chemistry from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.  He received his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from the New York Chiropractic College on Long Island.  Upon graduation, he received the D.D. Palmer award for Outstanding Service to the College Community.  In 1986 he was named one of the Outstanding Young Men of America.  During his clinical internship at the Greenvale Outpatient Facility, he received the Clinician of the Year award for his clinical expertise.  Postgraduate work includes a specialty in the treatment of disc related conditions and treatment of children.  He is one of the few chiropractors in the Capital Region certified by the Southeast Back Institute of Atlanta, Georgia.

 

            Dr. Gulyas maintains a presence in the community as a past president and past board member of the Shenendehowa Rotary Club.  He maintains active participation in the club and is a 16-year veteran of the group, currently helping to direct activities within the club itself for its members.  He is also a past Board of Director and past Officer of the Southern Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce.  He served as President of the 10^th District of the New York Chiropractic Association from 1992 to 1994.  He is an original founder of the Northeast Chiropractic Providers Group, a chiropractic preferred provider organization.

 

            He continues to attend seminars about every 6-8 weeks in order to keep up with the latest techniques in chiropractic.  His work in the community allowed him to be awarded the Small Business Person of the Year by the Southern Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce.  He was given the award for Outstanding New Yorker in the field of Health and Medicine by the New York State Jaycees, and he was also named to Who’s Who Among Top Executives in 1998.  In 2003 he was given the prestigious award of Paul Harris Fellow as awarded by the members of the Shenendehowa Rotary Club for his work and dedication to the club and to the community.

 

            Dr. Gulyas is married to the former Maryanne Hoover and together they have two children, Melanie and J.J.  Dr. Gulyas stands for a drug-free and natural approach to health not only in his practice, but also within the community.
